"Kerbside collection and local resource recovery"

Talks by Rowan Cooke and Judy Martin

Rowan Cooke from Enviro N will discuss the different elements of the DCC

kerbside collection service, including what goes in each bin and what happens

after it is collected. Rowan will also include some of the changes happening

nationally and internationally with regards to waste minimisation.

Judy Martin will talk about OneCoast, the local resource recovery centre set up

in the grounds of the Waikouaiti Transfer Station: "We are community run, with

the support of the Dunedin City Council. It has been quite a ride from the first

stirrings back in 2017 to our current 'domain'; and we want to stress how

important community engagement has been the whole way through!"
